Welcome to Imperial Belly Dance! Where everyone can Train to be a Professional Belly Dancer (or just look like one)!

Belly Dance for the Dancer in all of us. Dance your way to fitness and longevity! Reduce stress, increase flexibility, strength, balance, coordination, memory, and autophagy while having fun with sexy and ultra feminine Belly Dance.

Wear comfortable clothes, we recommend a sports bra and yoga pants. Barefoot is fine or a soft sole shoe like a ballet slipper or jazz shoe. Coin hip scarves and veils are provided

Belly Dance is perfect for those who are looking for an artistic, graceful and sexy dance fitness class that is also a lot of fun and gets great results.

Come ready to have fun, make new friends, and prepare to leave feeling sexy, strong and alive!

Belly Dance Group Fitness Classes are offered in West Boynton Beach on Sunday afternoons and Wednesday evenings

Dance Class Level Descriptions:

Beginner Belly Dance ~ In this class you will learn the basic movements and isolations as well as the posture and styling of belly dance. You will learn the power of the plié, weight change, muscle control and fluidity while toning the core, encouraging good posture, improving flexibility, and gaining body confidence. No previous dance experience needed

Beginner 2 Belly Dance ~ In this class, we bridge the Beginner and Intermediate levels expanding on basic movements and isolations while introducing hip drop kicks and traveling steps

Intermediate Belly Dance ~ In this class, basic concepts are expanded upon and the dancer’s vocabulary of movement is greatly increased. Core technique skills are refined and combinations become longer and more challenging.  Basic Jazz  skills for showmanship are introduced. Intro to Veil technique, combos, and traveling steps are taught

Advanced Belly Dance ~ Train to be a Professional Belly Dancer, or just look like one! In this class, we continue flexibility and strengthening drills to improve high kicks, splits, backbends, preventing injuries making your shows safe and more exciting. The power of plié, weight change, confidence, musicality, and stage presence! You will learn props, company choreographies, Isis wings, zills (finger cymbals), raks assaya (cane), and sword.

Beginner Hula ~ In this class you will learn the basics of Hawaiian and Tahitian dance and apply them to choreographed Hula Auana, Ori Tahiti and Maori-poi. Dawn has been certified in Hot Hula Fitness and Tahiti Dance Fitness since 2013 and is the Artistic Director of the performing group, Alaula Hula Fire Dancers

Splits Themed Pilates Mat ~ Pilates Method with the dancer’s needs for strength, flexibility, and longevity in mind. Classical Pilates core strength exercises and intense Dancer’s stretches fusion for strength, flexibility, and pain free performances. Deepen your backbends and get your Splits flat and fast! Dawn has been certified and teaching Classical Pilates Mat classes since 2003. Mats are at the studio or bring your own

Latin Jazz ~ This class takes elements from the technicality, fluidity and clean lines of jazz and fuses it with the movements and style of International and American Latin Dance. Latin Jazz combines the rhythms of Merengue, Salsa, Mambo, Cha Cha or Samba with Jazz Dance Technique. Bring knee pads and heels

Acro Heels/Go-Go ~ Not to be confused with musical theater or partner dancing in Latin and ballroom styles, “heels” refers to a fusion of different styles performed to popular music in three-inch, four-inch or even higher stilettos. This class takes elements from the technicality, fluidity and clean lines of jazz; the confidence and difficulty of acrobatics; the sensual floorwork inspired by exotic dance; and numerous other styles, including Latin dance, Burlesque, and Go-Go.
